Objectives & Purposes

The objects and purposes of the Australian Shepherd Association of NSW Inc are:

  1. To affiliate and remain affiliated with Dogs NSW.
  2. To promote and encourage interest in the Australian Shepherd and pure bred dogs.
  3. To promote and encourage the breeding of purebred Australian Shepherds at the same time maintaining their natural working abilities.
  4. To inform members of and make known to them the laws and regulations of the State relating to the ownership and care of dogs, and the responsibility of owners of the conduct and actions of their dogs.
  5. To foster relations with other Clubs and bodies having similar aims.
  6. To collect, verify and publish information relating to Australian Shepherds.
  7. To promote good fellowship and sportsmanship amongst members and those participating in or attending at shows, exhibitions and trials.
  8. To make awards and donate prizes for competition at shows, exhibitions and trials.
  9. To promote and assist and to make contributions to canine veterinary research and other worthy canine causes.
  10. To promote the holding of shows, exhibitions and trials and to conduct shows, exhibitions and trials.
  11. To educate and encourage members to abide by the requirements and standards approved by Dogs NSW. for the conduct of shows, exhibitions and trials.
  12. To hold functions and lectures relating to Australian Shepherds and to the objects of the Club generally.
  13. To educate and encourage members, breeders and Judges to abide by the requirements and standards approved by Dogs NSW for the conduct of shows, exhibitions and trials.
